Throw the World Away

PHILIPPIANS 3:7-9  But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.  8Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ 9  and be found in him, not having my own righteousness which is from God by faith.  

  Think about it, "But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ."  What is Paul saying here? He's saying that the thing's he has gained in this world he has thrown away for Christ.  He has taken every worldly thing he has gained in his life and has thrown it away so he can follow Christ!  That's what we need to do.  We need to be willing to get rid of everything in our life so we can follow Jesus.  I am not saying get off your computer and round up everything you own throw it away and wait and for God to say do this or do that.  I am saying you should be willing to do anything for God if god says "sell your stuff and do this" do it.  If God says witness to your neighbor do it.  You need to be able to obey God, to make him first in your life.

   8Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ.  9And be found in him, not having my own righteousness which is from God by faith.  In the first verse I think he's  saying that the knowledge of Christ is better and more valuable than any worldly possession.  So again put God before everything in your life.  And in the second verse he's saying that he doesn't want his own righteousness, he wants the righteousness of God.  We should all seek to be Godly and righteous in God's sight not our own.

You know these days a lot pastors just preach love love love love.  Ya know what I think BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH!!  God is not just love!  But don't get me wrong God love's us.  In fact God love's us enough to send his son Jesus to die for us.  So yes he loves us but that's not all it is.  God also wants us to fear him and you can't just say that your going to heaven because he's a God of love.  He's also a jealous God who wants you to trust him!  To believe him!  To do what he tells you to do and nothing else!  To read the Bible and believe every single word of it! 


You know being a Christan's a lot more than going to church every week.  Being a Christain is a lot more than just believing God even the DEVILS know there's a God!!!  Being a Christan is trusting God, believing God, obeying God, And doing what ever God tells you to do!  Being a Christan is surrendering your entire life to to Jesus Christ Gods son!!! 


So think about this don't just ignore this because this is the most important decision you will ever make to follow God or to not follow God.

Why Not Preach Peace, Joy, Love And Comfort?

So why not preach peace, joy, and love?  Well a lot people think that they can get people to become born again by preaching peace, joy, love, and comfort.  But when your born again God expects you to be ready for whatever he wants you to do!  Like when you join the army don't expect comfort!  Because they expect you to fight!  The same with God it will not always be easy to follow God.  Satan will tempt you and people will mock you. 


Sometimes you will have to step out of your comfort zone and stand up for the gospel!  So when you try to get someone saved by preaching peace and comfort, they will become saved thinking that it will easy that they won't have to do anything, that they can do what they want to do as long as they still believe in God.  That isn't right!  If you do that your not saving people!  Your giving them a ticket to hell!



I'm not saying that Jesus does not love you.  He loves you more than anyone else!  I am just saying that God wants you to be bold for the lord.
