What Are You building You're Life On?

There are so many distractions in life, some don't even realize the distractions when they see them.  Even something as harmless as reading a book can become a distraction if you put it before God and his Word.  Of course there are other distractions than books that can prove far more dangerous sex, drugs, alcohol etc.  Now as Christians we shouldn't put anything (or anybody) in our life before God.  That is why it is of the utmost importance to spend time in God's Word and prayer.  The bible talks about building a house either on the sand or on the rock.  Mat 7:24-27
24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
So in verse 24 and 25 Jesus is saying that if you build your house (life) upon a rock (the bible) when hard times come you will be able to withstand them because of you're strengthened relationship with Jesus through the bible.  Now in verse 26 and 27 Jesus is saying the exact opposite.  If you build your house (life) on the sand (the world or worldly possessions) then when hard times come you're going to come apart.  Make sure there is nothing in you're life that comes before God.  Because God wants to have a relationship with you and if you're distracted that relationship is going to unravel.

Throw the World Away

PHILIPPIANS 3:7-9  But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.  8Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ 9  and be found in him, not having my own righteousness which is from God by faith.
Think about it, "But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ."  What is Paul saying here? He's saying that the thing's he has gained in this world he has thrown away for Christ.  He has taken every worldly thing he has gained in his life and has thrown it away so he can follow Christ!  That's what we need to do.  We need to be willing to get rid of everything in our life so we can follow Jesus.  I am not saying get off your computer and round up everything you own throw it away and wait and for God to say do this or do that.  I am saying you should be willing to do anything for God if god says "sell your stuff and do this" do it.  If God says witness to your neighbor do it.  You need to be able to obey God, to make him first in your life.
8Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ.  9And be found in him, not having my own righteousness which is from God by faith.  In the first verse I think he's  saying that the knowledge of Christ is better and more valuable than any worldly possession.  So again put God before everything in your life.  And in the second verse he's saying that he doesn't want his own righteousness, he wants the righteousness of God.  We should all seek to be Godly and righteous in God's sight not our own.

PROVERBS Chapter 13

PROVERBS Chapter 13 ~

1.A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
2.A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors
shall eat violence.
3.He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
4.The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
5.A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.
6.Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner
7.There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.

An Encouragment

In Isaiah chapter 59 it says "Behold the Lords hand is not shortened that  it cannot save neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear.  But your iniquities have separated between you and your God and your sins have hid his face from you that he will not hear".  But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.  Doesn't that sound pretty dark?  Well that depends on how you see it.  I see it as an encouragement because at the beginning it says "Behold the Lords hand is not shortened that  it cannot save" did you catch that?  No matter how sinful we are he can still save us!  And after that it says "neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear" so he will always hear our prayers now that is awesome!

My Thoughts On Prayer

When I pray it's not just a religous rhyme I say before eating and
                           sleeping.

When I pray I am not doing it for show.

When I pray I am not doing it to make me feel better about myself.

Prayer is not something that you find in 4 year olds little golden
                           book's.
When I pray I am having a talk with God.

When I pray I am asking God to help me.

When I pray I am praising God.

When I pray I am praying for others including my enemies.

Prayer is a holy talk with God.

Strange Testimony

I was at a friends house last night and after eating chili with ice cream for desert I had the worst............ umm...how do I say this I had the worst upset stomach I have ever had!  Well actually i've had this before so while in the bathroom I thought "i've had this before it is so horrible my stomach feels soooo BAD I have to get rid of this"!
So I thought "well maybe I could ask God to relieve me of this upset stomach".
Then I thought "no why would God want to help my stomach'?
Then I thought "well in the bible it says "And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you"Lu 11:9.

Then I rememberd that in the kitchen about 1 or 2 days ago I heard mom listening to Michael Pearl.  And he said that there was this man who got a hold of his Grandmas bible and to the side of a lot of bible verse there was a mark that said TP and he couldn't figure it out.  So he brought it to his Grandmas pastor and asked "what does this TP mean"?  And he said "your Grandma put that to the side of a lot of bible verses it means "tried and proved" she put that to the side of every bible verse that she tried and proved."  Well I am going to try and prove Luke 11:9!  So I prayed to God and asked him to relieve me of my upset stomach and abou 10 secents later it quit!  So prase God!
